The Zugspitze at 2,962 m (9,718 ft) above sea level, is the highest peak of the Wetterstein Mountains as well as the highest mountain in Germany. It lies south of the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and the Austria–Germany border runs over its western summit. This nice Cover was cancelled at Germany's highest Post Office. On the Postmark you can see the Schneefernerhaus.  It is a former hotel in the Alps, that is now used as an environmental research station. Germany: The Bayreuth Festival

The Bayreuth Festival (German: Bayreuther Festspiele) is a music festival held annually in Bayreuth, Germany, at which performances of operas by the 19th-century German composer Richard Wagner are presented. Wagner himself conceived and promoted the idea of a special festival to showcase his own works, in particular his monumental cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen and Parsifal. Performances take place in a specially designed theatre, the Bayreuth Festspielhaus. This year's Festival took place from 25th July to 28th August 2016.

Germany: Bavarian Forest

The Bavarian Forest (German: Bayerischer Wald) is a wooded low-mountain region in Bavaria, Germany. It extends along the Czech border and is continued on the Czech side by the Šumava (Bohemian Forest). Geographically the Bavarian Forest and Bohemian Forest are sections of the same mountain range. A part of the Bavarian Forest belongs to the Bavarian Forest National Park (Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald) (240 km²), established in 1970 as the first national park in Germany. The highest mountain in the region is the Großer Arber ("Great Arber", 1,456 m)

Germany: Oktoberfest 2015

The Oktoberfest is the world's largest Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair). Held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, it is a 16-day folk festival running from mid or late September to the first weekend in October, with more than 6 million people from around the world attending the event every year. Locally, it is often simply called the Wiesn, after the colloquial name of the fairgrounds (Theresienwiese) themselves. The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture, having been held since 1810.

The 182nd Munich Oktoberfest takes place this year from 19 September to 04 October. The German Post issued a special cover for this event. This is a limited edition of 2.000 pieces.
